“It really affected me, man. I really didn’t sleep well,” he tells radio presenter Frank Dane. Dave explains that he received a lot of hate messages following Yvonne’s video. “Of course you also have to deal with people I work with. Both in the media world and sponsors with whom you have agreements. There are some people who check with you and say: hey, what is the truth regarding that?” he adds.
Although he has nothing to prove to anyone, he still wants to ‘show once’ that the accusations are untrue. For example, he posted a video with text and explanation on his Instagram channel. In addition, he took a blood test this morning and will take another urine test to prove that there are no traces of drugs or alcohol in his body. “Then I hope I have proven my innocence.”
He explains his plan of action: “I just take off my clothes and then you can see that I haven’t hidden a carton of apple juice. I’ll film the toilet. I will film the bowl. I will make sure there are no cuts in the videos.”
Frank does not think it is necessary for Dave to go so far as to prove his innocence: “Dear Dave, you don’t have to do any of this, friend. You don’t owe anyone anything. What kind of craziness is this, man.” But Dave thinks differently: “That’s right, except that I have a platform and am the owner of a clinic. I just want to show how transparent I am.” After all, he believes that he has always been honest ‘regarding his use’. “Even regarding my relapse.”
Fortunately, despite the painful situation, Dave has not lost his sense of humor. When Frank asks him what he’s going to drink for the urine test, Dave jokingly shouts, “Beer.”
