This Sunday, the whole world witnessed the 92nd edition of the Delivery of the Awards Oscar where, in addition to delivering the coveted golden statuette to prestigious actors, movies, among others, the slap of Will Smith a Chris Rock for making a joke regarding his wife Jada Pinkett Smith.
However, there were less violent and more emotional moments, such as the tribute that the Academy prepared for Carmen Salinas through a video projected in the section “In Memoriam“ where all the personalities related to the cinema are remembered and died before the event was held.
Mrs Carmelita Salinas, as it was called, earned a special place in the hearts of all Mexicans, as it participated in countless television, theater and film projects. She even ventured into the world of politics as a deputy for the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI).
Why did Carmen Salinas appear at the Oscar Awards tribute?
Although the trajectory of Carmen Salinas was extensive, more than 50 years old, many wondered why it was taken into account during a ceremony of international stature. This was clarified by his daughter Maria Eugenia Plasencia in an interview at First Hand.
He recalled that his last role was with Eugenio Derbez for the tape “The Valet”, in addition to that he also worked with the actor Denzel Washington in “Man on Fire” with a brief participation, but “very marked”.
However, he revealed that his mother enrolled in the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences so he went to cast his votes to choose the winners of the Oscar Awards.
