On the fringes of an interview, it became known that singer Grimes and entrepreneur Elon Musk became parents for the second time. Her daughter is named Exa Dark Sideræl. It is the seventh child for the 50-year-old.
Tech entrepreneur Elon Musk and musician Grimes have become parents once more. Her daughter goes by the unusual name Exa Dark Sideræl, Y for short, and was born to a surrogate mother in December. The birth of the child became known rather accidentally, because a journalist from the US magazine “Vanity Fair” visited Grimes for a portrait at home. During the conversation, he suddenly heard a baby crying, the reporter reports. The singer had previously informed him that her one-year-old son X Æ A-12 was with his father Elon Musk.
He initially said nothing and continued the interview, the journalist continues. Then the crying became unmistakable and he finally asked the “strangest question of my career: ‘Is there another baby in your life, Grimes?'” The initially uncomfortable situation then relaxed and both laughed.
Grimes and Elon Musk are currently not a couple
Confusion also surrounds Musk and Grimes’ relationship status. The two announced their split in September last year. However, the 50-year-old said they are only “half apart”, still love each other and see each other regularly. Speaking to Vanity Fair, Grimes said of Musk, “I would probably call him my boyfriend, but we’re very fluid. We live in separate houses. We’re best friends. We see each other all the time.” The 33-year-old didn’t rule out more children either: “We always wanted at least three or four.” The native Canadian wrote on Twitter that she and Musk are currently separated. “But he’s my best friend and the love of my life.”

For Musk, the daughter with Grimes is already his seventh child. The son he has with the musician was born in May 2020. The entrepreneur has five other children from his marriage to writer Justine Wilson. Twins Griffin and Xavier were born in April 2004. The triplets Kai, Saxon and Damian followed two years later. Wilson got the boys via artificial insemination. Wilson and Musk lost their first son, Nevada Alexander, to sudden infant death in 2002 when they were just 10 weeks old.
The couple, who met during their studies, married in January 2000. They divorced eight years later. Musk and Wilson have joint custody of their five sons. After separating from his first wife, the entrepreneur was married twice to actress Talulah Riley. Both marriages ended in divorce. Elon Musk and Grimes have been dating since 2018.
