DATX VOL. 2 is the second EP together with the artists of the Patagonian record label DATX that was just released this Friday on all digital platforms. After Vol.1, which featured the participation of some of the most prominent artists in the region, three other regional projects are presented: Magnus, Space Captain and Kamikaze Child.
The idea of an interdisciplinary project that promotes events and releases by musicians and composers from the Alto Valle was born at the end of 2022, at which time DATX as a record label began managing events and audiovisual productions in the first edition of FESTI. DATX, thus taking the first step to consolidate itself as an interdisciplinary project within the cultural industry of Patagonia.
DATX VOL. 2: music from the Upper Valley
The second volume of the DATX releases is made up of three songs that go through different moods, styles and sounds that represent very well the musical diversity of the projects that make up DATX.
The three works that make up DATX VOL.2 are a new appearance from the exclusive catalog of DATX, the metalabel that was born in 2022 and has the official support of the digital distributor DITTO, in the search to promote and make visible the great artists who are sounding in the Alto Valle, in the first instance, and with the aim of expanding and collaborating with the work and dissemination of the region/brand they represent: Patagonia.
Magnus
Magnus returns with a new song titled “Corazón” as part of the proposal of the Patagonian record label DATX. On this occasion the sound once more brings us clear references to some classic works of our popular music, with Spinettean airs that bring us a little closer to “Para los libros” and the hybrid character with electronic and acoustic elements that follow the line that the project comes from. presenting and now anticipating the release of his first EP in the month of October. Recorded and produced at Universo Audio (Cipolletti) and Franco Gerber’s personal studio (Neuquén), it featured the participation of Rigo Quesada in production and Cristian Faiad on drums from Estudio Paranoid (CABA) and Audio Warrior in charge of mastering.
Corazón is not just another single that Magnus presents to us, but it is part of a collaborative effort between regional bands that seek to strengthen themselves through personal and professional ties.
Magnus is the musical project artistically directed by Franco Gerber (27), pianist and composer, driven by songs that take shape around the fusion of different aesthetics and elements of our musical tradition within the classic format of the song.
Magnus’ idea is to create a musical and visual aesthetic that prints a hybrid character between the urban and the natural, the electronic and the acoustic, our tradition and the new musical elements of our country.
After the three singles published during the end of 2022 and 2023, the release of “Corazón” as part of the DATX catalog anticipates the new material that the band will release in October as part of its first EP and an end of the year marked by the live presentations they are preparing to give.

Space Captain
After his album Amazonia and the single “NO ME PREGUNTES”, Capitán del Spacio releases his new material titled “En una pEli”. In this new single, we find a trapper sound that anticipates the new album they have been working on and will be released in a few months. Produced and mixed by Toto Radeland and Alfredo Calderini and mastered by Audio Warrior, “En una pEli stands out for its great work in sound design.
As part of Volume 2 of DATX releases, Capitán del Spacio is betting on the union and cooperation between bands in the area to grow and open up to a new audience.
Capitán del Spacio is the Patagonian musical project led by Toto Radeland. It begins in 2021 when Toto called the rest of the project members to share their compositions and productions. They are Martin Zuvela (drums), Mariano Ponto (Bass), Gena Peralta (Guitar) and Franco Iván Gerber (keyboard).
In that same year, his first album titled “AMAZONIA” was released, which was presented at Cipolletti, at La Casa De La Bodega. Influences from indie, jazz, rock fusion, and trap appear on this album. Combining these genres, Capitán del Spacio seeks a fresh and modern sound.
Currently the project is working on its 2nd Album that will be released in a few months. The music that is coming seeks to exploit sound design, the possibilities of recording and production with synthesizers, electronic drums, etc. and focuses a little more on trap. A preview of this is the single “En una pEli”.
Niño Kamikaze
Niño Kamikaze releases his new single “Again dancing”. Recorded at Cipolletti’s Vrulerias studio in 2022, and mastered by Audio Warrior, this material, which will be part of the DATX catalogue, represents the second preview of what will be his first full-length album.
With a Funk style and the clear influences of Hip-hop/Rap that characterizes them, this new song brings as a novelty the participation of the group “Vientos al Sur” in arrangements.
With a danceable sound, this new song brings a positive message that will make listeners vibrate to the rhythm of funk. With a festive atmosphere, they leave things behind and continue with the message of “Se abre un camino”, their previous single, in which a new beginning is transmitted.
Niño Kamikaze was formed in mid-2014. In 2019 he released his first EP “Chacra”, which reflected an independently produced audiovisual live session. In 2020, thanks to the INAMU promotion call, he released his second EP titled “El Avance de la Euforia”, recorded entirely in a professional studio.
During their years of experience they presented their songs on different stages and festivals in the region in full band and duo formats. They are currently working on their first full-length album. In November 2022 they presented the first advance single titled “Se Abre Un Camino”.
