Presentation of the farmers’ catalog of demands in the run-up to the autumn proposal

Vienna (OTS) – Austrian agriculture with its small to medium-sized family businesses is known in Europe for its pioneering role in the field of sustainability. However, many farmers feel that their needs, which are closely linked to our special structures that have grown over centuries, are not sufficiently taken into account in EU environmental and climate policy. And they feel confronted with enormous challenges in the practical implementation.

Many of the hopes of Austrian farmers are therefore resting on the European Commission’s proposal for a sustainable EU food system, which is to be presented in autumn.

We therefore want to invite you on Monday, June 26 – to the press conference

“Presentation of the peasant catalog of demands for a sustainable EU food system”

Your interlocutors are the Member of the European Parliament and member of the parliamentary group of the European People’s Party Simone Schmiedtbauer, the President of the Austrian Farmers’ Association Georg Strasser, the President of the Austrian Chamber of Agriculture Josef Moosbrugger and the Chairman of the Association of Economics in the Country Josef Plank.

The press briefing will take place on Monday, June 26, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. via Zoom.

We kindly ask you to register at maximilian.gutjahr@europarl.europa.eu.

We look forward to your participation and are happy to answer any questions you may have.
