According to the latest survey by pollster Dataviva, President Nicolas Maduro remains the front-runner for re-election with 56.1% support, followed by opposition candidate Edmundo Gonzalez with 20.5%.
While the other options other than Edmundo González accumulate between them 15.7% support, according to Dataviva.
In this sense, Benjamin Rausseo has 5.1% support, Claudio Fermín 3.2%, Antonio Ecarri 2.8%, Daniel Ceballos 1.5%, Javier Bertucci 1.2%, José Brito 0.7%, Luis Eduardo Martínez 0.6% and Enrique Márquez 0.6%.
While 7.7% of respondents say they “do not know” or prefer not to answer.
In terms of party preference, the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV) and the parties grouped in the Great Patriotic Pole have 53% support, according to the study.
The Unitary Platform received 17% support, other parties got 8% and 5% of respondents identified with parties not mentioned. Likewise, 17% did not know/did not respond.
The study, which included a sample of 1,103 people nationwide, was conducted from June 24 to 28 of this year.
The electoral campaign for the upcoming elections begins this Thursday, July 4, and will continue until July 25.
