The directive points out that a control over the novelties in the credit history helps to prevent cases of fraud and impersonation, strengthening the financial security of people.

Impersonation Alerts

The directives of the central indicate that if it has been supplanted, or when it considers that it can be supplanted, through the portal www.midatacredito.com and other channels provided by the company, you can generate an alert in your credit history, so that the Entities that consult your credit history take greater care in verifying the identity before granting a credit.

Each one of the alerts will remain active for 6 months from the moment of its creation, and can be deleted before the term or renewed as many times as required by going to your personal profile within MiDataCrédito Experian.

If the alert is generated by the loss of your documents, do not forget to file the respective complaint online on the page www.policia.gov.co.

If the obligation was opened by an impersonator, they ask you to pay it and report it to an Information Center You must go directly to the entity (bank or business) clarifying the existence of the impersonation, through a request for correction, providing the respective supports that show that he was a victim of impersonation.

Once the entity receives the request, within a period of 10 days, it must compare the documents that support the questioned obligation, with the documents provided by you in the request, which will be taken as summary evidence to prove the falsity.

With your request, the ‘Source’ must modify its reports, reflecting that you as an impersonated person were not the one who acquired the obligations, and must include in your credit history that you were the victim of personal falsehood or impersonation.
