Dust from the Sahara desert might reach Italian skies as early as the next few days. The date to mark in red is, in particular, Sunday 7 July, when it will interact with a disturbance. This was announced by experts from ilmeteo.it in one of the latest published insights. It has already been discussed repeatedly. But what is the reason behind the intensification of the presence of this dust in our country? “The presence of the vast African anticyclone” and “the sub-tropical high pressure arriving from Africa”, they explained clearly.

Holidays in July? Giuliacci's forecast: thunderstorms and heat, what awaits us

The formation of “an insidious and deep cyclone between the Iberian Peninsula and France” will trigger “a constant call of warm currents from the southern quadrants directly from the Sahara desert”. This will ensure that, even in the next few days, large quantities of desert dust will reach our country. What will be the key days? According to the latest updates, we must pay attention to Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 July. The areas most affected by this particular phenomenon will be, instead, “the North-West regions (especially Valle d’Aosta, Piedmont and partly also Lombardy) where we expect the most significant rainfall”, the experts added.
