Lom arrived at Xelajú MC in 2022 with the call to be the star of the Altense team and was able to respond after two tournaments as he was crowned champion in the Clausura 2023, however, a semester later he lost prominence and ended up abandoning the superchiva discipline in December of 2023.

“As a coach there are two paths, supporting a player or a group, I am intelligent enough to support the group, it is what I am doing and the group feels supported by me. We have a united group, like a family, they are workers, they want everyone to go the same way, for everyone to work, honest, professional at all times, making it a priority to fight for a ball, kill each other on the court“were the words of Villatoro when he was consulted about Lom’s lack of minutes, and he also went on to say that the decisions he made were out of love for the forward. “I recommended him in Malacatán, in other teams, I brought him to Xela, I appreciate him, but also when you have affection and appreciation for a person, there are certain moments in which you also have to call his attention for his own good.“said the strategist at the time.
“For me everything is calm, but I still don’t understand why he went out and said that to all of Central America. That was something that hit me a lot as a footballer. With him saying that he took away three or four offers that I had on the table and I don’t know if that’s what he wanted to do, I don’t know.“Lom told Aparicio.
“If one day we talk, the only thing I want to say is ‘why did all that happen?’ He knew me as I am, he was the first coach who saw me when I came and asked me for the national team,” despite that, Lom considers that he is grateful for the opportunities that Villatoro gave him.
“I thank him for everything he has done, when no one trusted me he brought me. I wish him the best, I hope they get out of where they are (fighting not to be relegated),” he said.
Regarding the offers he mentioned, Lom said that there were two in Central America and one in Europe. He also said that he was asked about him in Quetzaltenango and that everyone was “throwing him.”
“They sent me messages, asking people in playing and they left it. It’s amazing how one person can change your career.. I just want the people and the teacher to know the impact they have. They have to support the same as the fans and continue motivating, when you are sunk the last thing you want is for them to continue throwing at you. “You know when you’re playing badly and I’m screwing myself, I don’t need to hear it from other people and that made me angry, but I’ve learned not to mess with the fans and I want to apologize to all the Xela fans when I got into a fight with them,” finished the 26-year-old forward.
