Darren Sammy has turned down the offer to become the head coach of the Pakistan cricket team

Former West Indies captain Darren Sammy also rejected the Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) offer to become the head coach of the national cricket team.

According to media reports, Darren Sammy was the head coach of Peshawar Zalmi for PSL 9, but Darren Sammy has refused to accept PCB’s offer to become the head coach of Pakistan Men’s Cricket Team.

According to the report, the reason for Darren Sammy’s refusal is his current contract with the West Indies board, in which he serves as the side’s head coach in ODIs and T20Is.

This development comes after Shane Watson returned home two days ago after rejecting the offer to be made the PCB’s head coach.

According to the report, Shane Watson had a detailed discussion with the PCB officials during the ongoing PSL matches in Karachi. Hoy had initially expressed interest, but despite an alleged offer of $2 million, Watson rejected the offer due to media leaks about PCB’s proposed package.

The former Australian all-rounder also cited Indian Premier League (IPL) commentary and his position as the head coach of Major League Cricket team San Francisco Unicorns for his refusal.

With both Sammy and Watson out of the head coach race, the PCB has decided to hold the national team’s training camp ahead of the T20 series against New Zealand starting on April 14 and during the training camp at Kakul from March 25 to April 8. May consider interim arrangements for supervision.
