It was stated in the electronic newspaper “al-Anbaa”:

The electricity file has returned to the fore, from two gates, the first following the harsh rationing that several regions began to experience, which indicates that the quantities of fuel have become few and the EDL is rationing its use, while the second was following a visit by a delegation from the Parliamentary Works and Energy Committee to the aforementioned institution, and agreement on points, The most important of which is the request to open a new accreditation.

A member of the Leadership Council of the Progressive Socialist Party, Muhammad Basbous, indicated that “increasing feeding hours and raising the value of electricity bills was not accompanied by necessary reform measures, especially in terms of reducing waste rates, and therefore it is not expected that anything will change in the way of dealing with the sector, and with time, it will end.” quantities of fuel, and the EDL is returning to blackmailing the government and the Banque du Liban and requesting new credits, and it has not paid the dues due on it.

In an interview with the electronic newspaper “Al-Anbaa”, Basbous denied the ability of the Lebanese Electricity to secure the price of importing new quantities of fuel through collection following raising the tariff, because people are unable to pay the new tariffs following the “exchange” price reached 70 thousand, even if the plan succeeded. Collection, the money is not enough to secure fuel, perform maintenance, etc., bearing in mind that the phenomenon of “hanging on poles” will spread more in the coming days, due to high-value bills.

Basbous warned that the darkness is “returning” with the current quantities of fuel depleting, and the Electricity of Lebanon Corporation will return and request a treasury advance to import new quantities, but it will not repay the previous advance, and therefore the same practices in the sector, and the reason for all this is not reforming it radically by reducing waste and improving collection. .

And while it seems that darkness is the destiny of the Lebanese throughout their stay in “hell”, the escalation only warns that the worst is yet to come, and more chaos is expected in the coming days, at all levels, politically, security, financially and judicially, while calls for dialogue and rapprochement remain. In the drawers waiting for a listening ear.
