Darkest Dungeon 2, which was released as Early Access to the Epic Games Store in October 2021, will be converted to an official release on May 8th. It will also be released on Steam on the same day as the official release. This news was announced on the 7th by Red Hook Studio, the developer of Darkest Dungeon 2, on the game’s official website.

Darkest Dungeon 2 is the sequel to Darkest Dungeon, a dungeon exploration roguelike RPG that was popular for its difficult yet challenging difficulty. It deals with the story of heroes to save the human world from a bigger crisis after the first episode, and in addition to the plague doctor, grave robber, heavy infantry, barbarian, leper, and highwayman who appeared in the previous work, a new hero, the fugitive, appears.

Against the backdrop of a dark story dealing with the post-part 1, the graphics of a different style from the previous work were presented, and unlike the previous work that attacked a specific dungeon, a new way of clearing the map consisting of various concepts by going around the carriage was sought to differentiate it. However, in the early access stage, it was evaluated that the existing method was better.

Meanwhile, Red Hook Studio will distribute the trial version through the Epic Games Store and Steam from the 7th to the 13th, the Steam Next Fest period, with the announcement of the official release schedule. In the demo, you can explore either a city or a farm with four starting heroes. In addition, there will be Darkest Dungeon 2 Q&A session and online gameplay gameplay.
