‘Dark Souls 3’ multiplayer, which was temporarily suspended earlier this year due to a fatal security issue, was restored following 7 months.

On the 25th, FromSoftware announced on Dark Souls official Twitter that they had opened the Dark Souls 3 PC version server and re-enabled the multiplayer element. The Dark Souls series PvP server was shut down in January of this year. At the time, Dark Souls 3 Twitch personal broadcast showed another user infiltrating the PC and running the voice conversion program remotely, and security problems were pointed out.

As the server was closed like this, Dark Souls series users might not enjoy multiplayer, which was considered the best part of the game, for a while. Meanwhile, in February, when Elden Ring was released, attention was focused on the game, but the server recovery was no news. In May, FromSoftware announced that it was in the process of restoring the Dark Souls series online server through the overseas game media PC Gamer. As the specific schedule was not disclosed, the waiting without promises continued.

And the Dark Souls 3 multiplayer server was opened at the end of August, seven months following the server was shut down. However, Dark Souls 1 and 2 are still closed. In response, FromSoftware said, “We are working on restoring online elements for all Dark Souls titles, and we will let you know when the service starts.” The wait for users is not over yet.
