Prosecutor Dariusz Korneluk assured that he would use his thirty years of experience and do everything to ensure that these expectations are met.
Prosecutor Dariusz Korneluk was selected as a candidate for the position of National Prosecutor in an open and open competition announced by the Minister of Justice, Adam Bodnar.
The Team to select a candidate for the position of National Prosecutor included: Deputy Minister of Justice Maria Ejchart (chairman), prof. Ph.D. Zbigniew Ćwiąkalski, attorney Radosław Baszuk, prosecutor Dr. Małgorzata Szeroczyńska, prosecutor Seweryn Borek, prof. Ph.D. Ewa Gruza, and legal advisor Zbigniew Tur.

After a public hearing of the candidates on February 26, 2024, the team recommended prosecutor Dariusz Korneluk for the position of National Prosecutor, including: due to “the greatest experience in managing teams at various levels of the prosecutor’s office, and also to present a broad and coherent vision of the prosecutor’s office.”
Therefore, Prosecutor General Adam Bodnar asked Prime Minister Donald Tusk to appoint Dariusz Korneluk as the National Prosecutor (pursuant to Article 14 § 1 of the Law on the Public Prosecutor’s Office).
Thus, the process of appointing a new National Prosecutor has been completed.
Dariusz Korneluk he started working in the prosecutor’s office in 1996. First, he worked at the Gdańsk-Północ District Prosecutor’s Office in Gdańsk, then at the Warsaw-Mokotów District Prosecutor’s Office in Warsaw.
From 2000, he performed the duties of a prosecutor in the 6th Department for Organized Crime at the District Prosecutor’s Office in Warsaw.
In the years 2003-2005 he served as the District Prosecutor for Warsaw-Praga Północ in Warsaw. In the years 2005-2010 – Warsaw-Praga District Prosecutor in Warsaw. In the years 2010-2016 – Appellate Prosecutor in Warsaw.
From March 2016 to December 2023, he worked as a prosecutor at the Warsaw-Śródmieście District Prosecutor’s Office in Warsaw.
In December 2023, he became General Counsel in the Office of the Minister of Justice and the Prosecutor General in the Ministry of Justice.
On February 13, 2024, Prosecutor General Adam Bodnar entrusted him with the function of Deputy National Prosecutor.
On March 14, 2024, he was appointed by Prime Minister Donald Tusk as the National Prosecutor.
