Smashing Pumpkins was a leading group of the 90’s, D’Arcy was the bass player.

Born May 1, 1968, D’Arcy grew up in Michigan. Under the watchful eye of her mother, she begins to learn the violin.

She regularly sings in a choir. His two sisters are the girls appearing on the famous cover of the single Today released in 1993. After graduating from college, she got serious regarding playing bass.

With a group of friends, she travels around France for a few months doing small concerts. Back in the United States, she passes through Chicago and decides not to return to Michigan.

The crush for the city is immediate. She moved there with her sister and went through various odd jobs as a waitress in the local bars.

It is precisely at the Avalon Nightclub in Chicago that she meets Billy Corgan, singer and founder of Smashing Pumpkins…

The first words exchanged between them are quite full-bodied, the beginning of a long tormented story.

Between two drinks, Corgan slips to D’Arcy that he is looking for a bass player for his band and leaves her his number. D’Arcy calls Billy back, and she auditions. Committed! D’arcy Wretzky joins the trio.

The band first performed together at Avalon Nightclub on August 10, 1988.
