Danisha Chimilio from Izabal sets a new national record in the triple jump

In the Central Regional Ranking event, the Izabal native achieved, on her fourth attempt, 12.85 meters, and not satisfied with that, she tried again and achieved 12.91 meters, and set a World Cup record in the Under-20 category.
This helped him surpass the previous record of Fleischmann, who had established his mark on June 15, 1996 with a distance of 12.68 meters.
Regarding what Chimilio achieved, Estefany Cruz commented on her personal social media profile that “I have been looking for years to beat your U20 record and my partner along with Raúl Terry Lauto beat it”.
Regarding Chimilio Ávila, it should be noted that he was born in Livingston, Izabal, he is 19 years old, and since 2020 he started in athletics at an invitation from the coach and former athlete Doroti López, also from Izabal, who currently holds the national record in bullet momentum (13.52 meters).
“It caught my attention because I saw that many young people passed by my house on the way to training. “I spoke to my father to give me permission to go,” the youth athlete told the Athletics Federation website.
In a publication from the same institution, dating from October 2021, they highlight that Professor Carlos Blanco was one of the first to support it. He took her to her training sessions in Puerto Barrios, and they explain that she, in 2020, came to the capital city to continue her preparation.
Likewise, they explain that, since his arrival in the city, his coach has been the Cuban, Raúl Terry, who became his guide through which he was able to unleash his potential to surpass the national record in the triple jump.
