Daniela, have you always wanted to be a mom?
Yes, it was a dream. I might tell you that almost a milestone. So much so that when I was in the nest, in a professions class, they asked me ‘Daniela, what do you want to be when you grow up?’ and I said that she wanted to be a mom. Obviously the teacher called my house in great anguish and complained to my mom. He was very funny because he told her ‘Ma’am, you have to explain to Danielita that being a mom is not a profession’ and my mom yelled: ‘Why not? LOL.
How did you meet your husband?
In Dragon del Sur, a nightclub in Punta Hermosa. Never in our lives, but never, would we have imagined that we would end up getting married because he was the typical guy you meet in a nightclub and that’s it. On the contrary, he cares more regarding giving me good roles and he’s not thinking regarding ‘Oh, who are you going to cast with now?’ He is very understanding, very cool and always pushes me to work.
Do you miss working on ‘In the background there is room’?
Well, many years ago I stopped recording for the series. I miss the character because I have a lot of love for him. She opened many doors for me and made me more confident in myself. He taught me amazing things regarding the comedy genre and overcoming the fear of making a fool of myself.
During pregnancy, who had more cravings, you or your husband?
Ricardo had cravings all the time. Out of nowhere he wanted chocolate cake, ice cream, grape leaves, falafel, I need a beer!
Do you have a nickname that we don’t know?
They have always called me ‘Dani’, ‘Da’, and at school they called me ‘Pony’ because I had a very high tail.
What thing does Ricardo do that drives you crazy?
Oh no, my husband has a big defect that I can’t change and I’ve already given up. He loves to eat cold food from the fridge! He opens the fridge, grabs a fork and eats whatever is in there. Even the soup! I don’t know how he doesn’t get sick, ha ha ha.
And what do you admire most regarding him?
That he is very chambero and passionate regarding what he does. He inspires me how hard he is to achieve his goals. And I speak in every way. In the relationship he is just as committed. That’s something I always commend him for.
Was the movie ‘Igualita a mí’ a dream come true?
Totally! For me ‘Cachín’ is the father of comedy in Peru and recording with him was an honor. I would love to follow in his footsteps.
