Daniel Kahneman – the founder of behavioral economics has died — UNIAN

Daniel Kahneman, winner of the Nobel Prize in Economics, Israeli-American psychologist and economist, has died.

His adopted daughter Deborah Treisman informed regarding the scientist’s death. However, she did not specify the circumstances and place of death of Kahneman, who was 90 years old, the publication wrote The Washington Post.

Who is Kahneman?

Kahneman was one of the founders of behavioral economics – a direction that studies the influence of social, cognitive, emotional and other factors on people’s adoption of certain economic decisions.

In 2002, the scientist received the Nobel Prize in Economics “for the application of psychological methods in economic science, especially during the study of the formation of judgments and decision-making in conditions of uncertainty.”

Kahneman was married to the famous attention and memory researcher Ann Trisman.

In 2001, he became a member of the US National Academy of Sciences.
