Daniel Cataño de Millonarios and Tolima: ratify sanctions in Dimayor – Colombian Soccer – Sports

The Disciplinary Committee of the Dimayor resolved in second instance the case of sanctions against the Millonarios footballer Daniel Cataño and Deportes Tolimadue to the match not started on date 4 in Ibagué and postponed to March 29.

The Committee ruled this Wednesday in the second instance, after the parties presented their appeals for reinstatement of the sanctions imposed.

Cataño received a 3-date punishment for responding to a fan’s aggression. Tolima saw the Plaza del Manuel Murillo Toro with 4 days.

The Committee reported that it did not respond to either of the two requests, and it ratified its initial decision.

It adds that it grants the appeal before the Disciplinary Commission of the DIMAJOR.

Thus, Tolima retains its initial sanction: “Deportes Tolima SA sanctioned with four (4) dates of total suspension from the plaza and a fine of twelve million seven hundred and sixty thousand pesos ($12,760,000) for incurring in the offense described in the numerals 1, 4, 5,6, 7,8 and 9 of article 84 of the Single Disciplinary Code of the Colombian Football Federation (hereinafter “CDU of the FCF”); in the match scheduled for the 4th date of the BetPlay League DIMAYOR I2023, against the Club Azul & Blanco Millonarios F.CSA”.

And for Cataño: “Felipe Cataño Torres, player of the Azul & Blanco Millonarios FCSA registry, sanctioned with three (3) dates of suspension and a fine of six hundred and eighteen thousand six hundred and sixty-six pesos ($618,666) for incurring the infraction described in literal d ) of article 63 of the CDU of the FCF, in the match scheduled for the 4th date of the BetPlay DIMAYOR I League 2023, against Club Deportes Tolima SA”.

The case was recorded on Sunday, February 12, at the Ibagué stadium, when a Tolima fan entered the field and attacked him. Cataño responded and for that reason he was expelled by the referee Wilmar Roldan.

Dimayor’s first decision was to reschedule the match for March 29 at 8 p.m.

Then, the Committee imposed the sanctions that were ratified. The professional soccer players protested in the previous day of the league for the punishment of their colleague from Millionaires.
