You may have heard of it, the current trend on social media for weight loss is Ozempic, a drug normally used for the treatment of people with diabetes. But this drug is not recommended at all for people who do not suffer from diabetes.
On TikTok, a 41-year-old woman explained that she had taken Ozempic. She says it’s been effective for her weight loss, but cautions anyone who might be tempted: “It was destroying my pancreas,” she says.
Administered by injections, the drug has led to impressive weight loss in some. But the TikTok user warns: she spent more than three weeks in the hospital and felt “the worst pain” of her entire life following taking this famous drug. The American recounted her experience on the social network: “I have been taking Ozempic to lose weight for two months. My last injection for the second month dates back to the day I was hospitalized. I went to the hospital for three consecutive weeks,” she explains.
She later learned that she had developed pancreatitis from taking the drug. “Yes, I lost weight but maybe I didn’t lose it thanks to Ozempic, I might have lost it because I had pancreatitis,” she confides.

The American explains that shortly following the first dose, she began to suffer from vomiting and she was not eating. Thinking it was side effects of the drug, she didn’t worry. “I was losing weight, I lost 40 pounds (18 kilos) in four weeks and I loved it because I just wanted to lose weight to be prettier”, explains the lady once more.
But the symptoms were becoming unbearable. So she went to her doctor. “It just kept getting worse. I went to the emergency room, they examined me and my lipase level was too high, which shows pancreatitis, ”explains the American.
Following her bad experience, the forty-year-old wants to warn people who would like to do like her: “I’m not telling you not to take it, I’m just saying that please, if you’re in pain, if you’re vomiting, go get your lipase levels checked and watch your body because it was killing my pancreas which ultimately would have killed me,” she warns. “I just want to warn that it happens, even if it is one in 5,000 cases, it is the worst pain and the worst disease that I have ever had, so be careful,” she adds.
