POLRI urges the public not to rest on the shoulder of the road while traveling home for Eid. This is because the risk of an accident occurring is greater if a vehicle stops on the shoulder of the road. Travelers are advised to use rest areas to rest during the journey.
“Don’t rest on the shoulder of the road, especially on toll roads because it is very dangerous,” said the National Police Traffic Corps Director Brigadier General Raden Slamet Santoso in a written statement, Monday, April 1 2024.
Raden said the National Police provided security posts and service posts in the rest area. People can use these posts to rest.
“If you are tired or sleepy, immediately look for the nearest rest area and rest in the place provided,” said the one-star general.
Raden reminded travelers to ensure their own health before traveling. This is to maintain safety and security while traveling.
“Because speed on toll roads has minimum and maximum standards. If you want to rest, rest at the rest area,” he explained.
