(CNN Spanish) — Daniel Noboa, 35, is the elected president of Ecuador following winning the elections in 2023.
He ran in the early elections to define Guillermo Lasso’s successor for the National Democratic Action Movement and, according to his work plan, his proposals focus on attracting foreign investment and developing the country’s business sector.
Noboa focused on reaching young people and also promised job creation and “significant” reform of security institutions in Ecuador, which is currently undergoing a wave of violence.

Carrera
Before entering politics, Noboa Azín was a young businessman. At age 18 he founded DNA Entertainment, a company dedicated to organizing events, according to his National Assembly profile. He later held positions at Corporación Noboa, the business conglomerate led by his father.
The young businessman’s political career began in 2021, when he won a seat in the National Assembly, where he served as president of the Economic Development Commission, according to his website.
He ran for the 2023 elections following Lasso decreed “crossed death”, a constitutional clause with which the National Assembly is dissolved to call elections and thus renew the Legislative and Executive powers.
