A demanding passenger on a US airline delayed an international flight by three hours by protesting a meal ordered by a “wild, spoiled” passenger.

And the British newspaper “The Guardian” reported that a passenger on a United Airlines flight was unruly enough because of not getting his favorite meal option that the plane had to be diverted.

On Sunday, United Airlines Flight 20 was scheduled to fly from George Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston, Texas, to Amsterdam Airport Schiphol in the Netherlands.

The flight, which usually takes nine and a half hours, took off. But things did not go smoothly, as about two hours after take-off, the United Boeing 777 was flying in the sky near O’Hare International Airport in Chicago, deliberately burning fuel to reduce the weight of the plane before the emergency landing, knowing that this was not due to a mechanical problem but because of an unruly passenger. He didn’t control his anger.

According to the newspaper, the spoiled person who was sitting in the business class was angry at not meeting his choice of a specific meal, and he rebelled against the flight crew and made a fuss that required the pilot of the plane to divert its course to avoid any dangers.

The company said in a later statement, “United Flight No. 20 from George Bush International Airport to Amsterdam diverted to O’Hare International Airport and landed safely after (a) disturbance from a passenger. (After that) security personnel met the plane at the gate and escorted the passenger outside. Then The plane continued its scheduled flight to Amsterdam.” United Flight 20 eventually arrived in Schiphol three hours later than scheduled.

The newspaper did not say what happened to the passenger after he was escorted off the plane, but the FAA has imposed fines of nearly $82,000 for disorderly conduct in recent years as the agency has tried to crack down on in-flight turbulence.

It is reported that as United business class passengers usually have a choice between beef, salmon, ricotta cheese and wild honey manicotti, and it seems that the strange passenger did not get any of these meals.
