Actress Dalia Mostafa revealed that she suffers from diabetes, and uses a device to measure sugar levels and alert her when they rise or fall, stressing that these matters should not be met with bullying.
Dalia Mostafa explained, in a video on her Instagram account, that she took a photo a few days ago with her sister and posted it spontaneously, only to find many positive comments and messages from women who supported her in announcing that she had diabetes, and that she was not ashamed to appear wearing a measuring device on her arm.
The Egyptian artist confirmed that the positive messages encouraged her to film the video, and to stress the need for young people and children not to be ashamed of these devices, and to wear them on their arms openly. She explained: “Maybe we do not have enough awareness to avoid bullying. I believe that children and women with diabetes should not be ashamed of wearing the device. It does not matter what others think regarding my appearance as long as I feel comfortable.”
She continued that she suffered from diabetes for a period of time, and did not care regarding measuring her blood sugar levels, which exposed her to a number of health problems, until one of the doctors advised her to install a blood sugar measuring device on her arm, which gives her a graphical indication of its blood levels on a regular basis.
She said: “When the index rises, I get insulin, and when it decreases, I am warned to eat foods that contain sugar. Of course, I am not talking regarding the device for advertising because I do not care regarding its type, but I encourage everyone to use it and not care regarding the opinions of others.”
Dalia emphasized: “Everyone is concerned regarding their appearance in front of others. You may be concerned regarding how someone sitting in front of you sees you, while he is anxiously thinking regarding how you see him. Everyone is busy with himself, so do not care regarding others.”
It is noteworthy that the latest work in the Dalia Mustafa series is the series “A Legitimate Relationship,” which was shown during the last month of Ramadan, and co-starred with Yasser Galal, Mai Omar and Murad Makram, written by Samah Al-Hariri and directed by Khaled Marai.
