Dakar Rally competitors from 68 countries arrive in preparation for Saturday’s start

Participants in the Saudi Dakar Rally 2023, from 68 countries, began to flock to the Kingdom, specifically to the city of Yanbu. On the Red Sea coast, in preparation for the launch of the fourth edition, during the period from December 31, 2022 to January 15, 2023.

The participants in Yanbu are preparing for the start of the preliminary stage of the race, which is 11 kilometers long, provided that the official competitions begin on the first of next month, with a circular stage around the city of Yanbu on the coast of the Red Sea, passing through Al-Ula, then the city of Hail, Dawadmi, and the capital, Riyadh. Haradh, the Empty Quarter, Shaybah, and Al-Hofuf, all the way to Dammam, which will be the closing point, as this edition is the longest in the side of the special stages subject to timing since 2014, according to an official statement distributed on Thursday.

On Thursday, all vehicles participating in the rally will be subject to a stage of technical and technical examination, in order to ensure that they comply with the conditions, and to ensure that the vehicles comply with the laws of the rally and all safety instructions, provided that this process continues over two days.

It is noteworthy that the participants in this version of the Dakar Rally 2023, numbering 820 drivers and navigators, representing 68 different countries, with a total of 455 vehicles in various categories of the race, including 125 motorcycles, 73 cars, 56 trucks, and 47 vehicles in the category of typical light desert vehicles. T3, 46 vehicles in the T4 category, 19 quads, and 89 cars and trucks in the Classic category.
