Riding his Gasgas, Charlie Herbst suffers a lot, has come a long way, but savors the adventure:“I experienced some adventures on the 1st day with a big fall at 120 km/h where everything could have stopped. On the 2nd day, a mechanical breakdown problem with a radiator problem, so I lost almost everything. an hour in total. After the other days it went well.”

The justice of the peace on this Dakar 2024 rally was the highly anticipated 24-hour marathon event without assistance, without contact with the outside world and without knowledge of the current classification, and the Poitevin biker will keep great memories of it:“We did 628 km of special in the dunes as far as the eye could see, I managed pretty well.” Like the other competitors, the Poitou pilot found himself bivouacking in the desert with all the competitors and he really liked it: ” What’s great about the 48H stage is to find ourselves in the true essence of the Dakar, we found ourselves by the fire with Carlos Sainz, Sébastien Loeb, all these car competitors in particular, who we never almost never sees the rest of the time.”
