In the dairy industry, actions and strikes have also been canceled for the time being. Employers and trade unions have concluded a new collective labor agreement for the twelve thousand employees. They can count on a wage increase of 11.65 percent.

“New strikes in the dairy sector are not on the agenda for the time being,” says director Henk Jongsma of CNV Vakmensen. “We will positively present this collective labor agreement result to our members.”

It concerns a collective labor agreement for fifteen months: from January 1 this year to April 1, 2024. According to Jongsma, there is a better result than the final offer that the employers made earlier. “We have now also been able to make agreements regarding a better arrangement for older employees to be able to stop working earlier.”

Strikes have taken place at several locations in recent weeks. This happened at FrieslandCampina in Marum, Noordwijk, Steenderen, Borculo and Meppel, among others.
