Daily water intake required to stimulate weight loss

Jaiswal explained that the general recommendation is to drink regarding 4 to 8 glasses of water daily, taking into account factors such as age, gender and weight.

However, when it comes to weight loss, the recommended amount of water can vary.

Studies have shown that men should drink 10 to 13 cups of water to achieve weight loss, while women can drink 8 to 9 cups to help with weight loss, says Jaiswal.

“Now, if you drink a glass or two of water before meals, it will have a noticeable effect on weight loss, because you then tend to eat less food,” she added.

She also revealed that by hydrating your body with water before meals, you may feel full and consume fewer calories, which helps with weight management. Drinking water can also help with this by filling your stomach, giving you a feeling of fullness and reducing hunger, which in turn may contribute to weight loss.

Additionally, if you feel hungry, it might be a sign of thirst, so choosing a glass of water instead of a snack can help you avoid overeating.

Water plays a crucial role in distributing nutrients to all cells of the body, making it essential for the weight loss process.

Research has also shown a strong link between drinking more water and losing weight. In an experiment involving 50 obese women, who drank 500 ml of water half an hour before each meal, experts found a decrease in body weight, fat and body mass index.

They also found that their appetite decreased following doing this for 8 consecutive weeks.

A different research study showed that drinking water can have a small effect on calorie burning.
