These are the readings and the gospel for Mass, the Catholic celebration of this Sunday, January 28, made known by the Catholic Church itself.
Remember that by holding Masses practically every day, the Vatican announces the word of the day daily. These are today’s, according to Vatican News.
Reading from the book of Deuteronomy
Dt 18, 15-20
In those days, Moses spoke to the people, saying, “The Lord God will raise up among you, among your brothers, a prophet like me. You will listen to him. This is what you asked of the Lord your God when you were gathered together.” on Mount Horeb: ‘We do not want to hear the voice of the Lord our God once more, nor see that great fire once more; for we do not want to die.’
The Lord answered me: ‘What they said is right. I will raise up among his brothers a prophet like you. I will put my words in his mouth and he will say what I command him. Whoever does not listen to the words he speaks in my name, I will hold him accountable. But the prophet who dares to say in my name what I have not commanded him, or speaks in the name of other gods, will be liable to death.'”
Reading of the first letter of the apostle Saint Paul to the Corinthians
1 Cor 7, 32-35
Brothers: I would like you to live without worries. The single man worries regarding the things of the Lord and how to please Him; On the other hand, the married man worries regarding the things of this life and how to please his wife and that is why his heart is divided. In the same way, the woman who no longer has a husband and the single woman care regarding the things of the Lord and can dedicate themselves to Him body and soul. On the contrary, the married woman worries regarding the things of this life and how to please her husband.
I tell you all this for your own good. I tell you this, not to set a trap for you, but so that you can live constantly and without distractions in the presence of the Lord, as it is appropriate.

Reading of the holy gospel according to Saint Mark
Mc 1, 21-28
At that time, Jesus was in Capernaum and the following Saturday he went to the synagogue and began to teach. The listeners were amazed at his words, because he taught as one who had authority and not as the scribes.
There was a man in the synagogue possessed by an unclean spirit, who began to shout: “What do you want with us, Jesus of Nazareth? Have you come to destroy us? I already know who you are: the Holy One of God.” Jesus ordered him: “Shut up and get out of him!” The unclean spirit, shaking the man violently and shouting, came out of him. Everyone was amazed and asked: “What is this? What new doctrine is this? This man has authority to command even the unclean spirits and they obey him.” And very soon his fame spread throughout Galilee.
