Dagestan mixed martial arts fighter Vagab Vagabov defeated Ivan Shtyrkov (Ekaterinburg) nicknamed “Ural Hulk” in the main fight of the RCC 18 evening, reports URA.RU correspondent. Negotiations regarding the fight began regarding two years ago, but the competition took place only on February 24 in Tyumen at the Tsentralny sports complex.
The fighters conducted the fight carefully: Shtyrkov exchanged low kicks from a distance and put more pressure on Vagabov, while Vagab increased the distance and escaped from disadvantageous positions. As a result, the victory was given to the Dagestani by unanimous decision of the judges. “This is my first time performing here, and it turns out that I have many well-wishers in Tyumen. I had a big downtime, I wanted to check my condition,” Vahabov said following the fight.
The fighters fought according to the rules of kickboxing; for Shtyrkov this was the third fight of this kind. Previously, he entered the ring once morest the winner of the World Cup and the top of Belarus Petra Romankevicha and Russian mixed martial arts star Vladimir Mineev.
