Daft Punk joins TikTok

Paris: French dance group Daft Punk has launched its own channel on the Tik Tok network, hoping to attract a new generation of fans of the famous music duo.

The deal with Tik Tok will allow users to view Daft Punk’s music collection and use it in their videos.

Since its inception in the 1990s, Daft Punk, composed of Thomas Bangalter and Guy Manuel de Homem Cristo, has held the rights to all of its musical productions.

Consequently, the duo’s business was not covered by the agreements that “Tik Tok” had previously concluded with music production companies in recent years to obtain the rights to the works used through the application, which required the platform to conclude a direct contract with the band.

As of Tuesday, users can use two new filters in their videos, allowing them to put on an adjustable robotic helmet or show the famous dog “Charlie the Dog”, who debuted in 1997 in the video version of the song “Da Funk” signed by director Spike Jones.

The duo will also publish content on their channel, including works from their artistic activity between 1993 and 2011.
