The DAF XDC and XFC construction trucks share their DNA with the multi-award-winning new generation trucks DAF XD, XF, XG and XG⁺, which have won International Truck of the Year for two consecutive years. The XDC and XFC are available with two, three and four axles and with single or double drive. Both the XDC and the XFC have been specially developed for the toughest jobs in demanding conditions. The XDC and XFC models offer a large approach angle of 25 degrees and a high ground clearance of 33 to 39 cm (depending on specification). The construction vehicles feature a robust construction with a three-piece steel bumper, black stripe grille and steel radiator cap as standard equipment. Both vehicles are the ideal basis for tippers, concrete mixers, hook lifts and other special bodies.
Like their road siblings, the new generation XDC and XFC are powered by the new PACCAR MX-11 and MX-13 engines with a power output of up to 390 kW/530 hp. All DAF construction vehicles are equipped with an automated TraXon gearbox as standard, which has a special off-road mode for optimal shifting performance in difficult terrain. The gears can be changed very quickly and at high engine speeds to maintain dynamics in difficult or hilly terrain. In addition, the XDC and XFC offer automatic starting gear selection. The “ASR Off” function and the rocking-free function for starting off in slippery conditions and for freeing the stuck vehicle under extreme conditions by rocking quickly are new.
