Today (7th), a holiday, the ‘Daegu Marathon’ was held in Daegu, with 28,000 participants, including athletes and hobbyists.

Starting this year, we raised the prize money to the world’s highest level, and we are dreaming of a competition comparable to the Boston Marathon in the United States.

Early in the morning, tens of thousands of people gathered in front of Daegu Stadium wearing track and field uniforms.

Warm up with some light stretching and tighten your shoe laces.

These are the participants of the Daegu Marathon that received the World Association of Athletics Federations’ Gold Label’ certification.

A total of 28,000 people participated in this tournament, which was held on the largest scale ever.

As soon as the starting signal is given, elite athletes from around the world, including Kenya and Ethiopia, start sprinting.

The participants might not hide their excitement at the thought of running with athletes they had only seen on TV.

Starting from this competition, if you win first place, you will receive up to 160,000 dollars, or regarding 200 million won, depending on your record.

To increase the prestige of the event, the prize money was raised four times compared to last year, which is more than that of the Boston Marathon in the United States.

The goal in the future is to grow this event into an event comparable to the world’s top seven marathons.

After a nail-biting battle, Kenya’s Stephen Kiprop won with a time of 2 hours, 7 minutes and 3 seconds.

Lee Dong-jin in the domestic men’s division and Jeong Da-eun in the women’s division crossed the finish line in first place.
