On the 27th, civic groups, such as the Daegu-Gyeongbuk Anti-Discrimination Act Enactment Coalition, urged the enactment of the Anti-Discrimination Act, and began an occupational demonstration at the Daegu City Hall of the Democratic Party of Korea.
According to the Daegu-Gyeongbuk Anti-Discrimination Law Enactment Coalition, it was reported that four members of the Human Rights Movement Solidarity, Doctors in Action, Rainbow Human Rights Coalition, and Daegu Youth Union participated in the demonstration that started at 10 am. They urged the swift enactment of the ‘Anti-Discrimination Act’, which has been pending in the National Assembly for 15 years.
They said, “It has been 15 years since the discussion on the enactment of the anti-discrimination law in Korean society began. “I lived with hate, discrimination and pain,” he said.
He added, “The anti-discrimination law is an urgent calling of the times, and it is more urgent than ever to enact it. The Democratic Party of Korea should enact it at the National Assembly, which is not far away in April.” In this regard, the Daegu City Party of the Democratic Party of Korea has stated that there is no fixed position at the city level.
