It was none other than a smishing text message that came to his cell phone. ‘Smishing’ is a compound word of SMS and phishing, and refers to a hacking method that extracts personal information by sending a text message to an unspecified number of people.

When looking at the smishing text message released by Vice Chairman Chung, the first person said, “Dad, my phone broke, so I left AS. I can’t call, so please text me on this number.”

This is a typical smishing technique that steals personal information by disguising as if it was sent by a trusted person or company. It is a scam that can cause additional damage by not only opening an account, remittance, but also getting a loan with a single photo of ID, so you need to be careful.

In this regard, Vice Chairman Chung urged caution, saying, “No matter how pretty your daughter is, you should not send a photo of your ID (resident registration card).”
