Dad builds toy fort at home to keep daughter away from phone and tablet – Life & Style

A father in China turned his house into an exciting toy castle to protect his daughter from screen addiction. Zhang, a 35-year-old from Zhenjin in Hunan province, has made about 300 toys for his daughter Nanny.

Says Zhang: “If I forbid my daughter from using a phone or tablet, she has to provide some alternative activities. Toys are perfect for children of this age.”

Zhang took up various activities to keep his daughter away from the screen. They built a miniature train track in the house, and turned the door into a game of Tetris. He says that this game is special for both father and daughter.

In another interesting project, they turned a wall power box into a “Mickey Mouse hole”, where Mickey can be seen sitting on a comfortable couch. Zhang paid special attention to every detail of the place.

The issue of excessive screen use among children and youth in China is also an important topic. That’s why the Cyberspace Administration has mandated the introduction of a “minor mode” for all mobile devices, which limits daily screen time to two hours based on age.
