On August 12, Wang Chengyou, who lives in the Cotton Mill Collective in Shihua Town, Gucheng District, Hubei Province, received news that his missing son Wang Yuanyuan had been found. In the blink of an eye, his 34-year long journey to find his son was over. Stunned for a moment, Wang Chengyou and his wife Shi Guiju hugged each other and cried.

On the morning of August 18, relatives, friends and neighbors of Wang Chengyou and his wife came to the intersection outside the factory early to set up a stage and hold up banners in preparation for the ceremony. Red fireworks were also scattered along the long street, and a large number of villagers gathered together, preparing to witness a meaningful moment of reunion.

Family reunion scene.

At around 1:00 p.m., a police car carrying Wang Yuanyuan, his wife and children appeared from a distance. The grandparents’ eyes were blurry with tears. Then the moment came, and Wang Yuanyuan’s son gradually appeared and stood in front of his grandparents. They could no longer suppress their emotions and burst out:

“Kid, you are finally back!”

The music and firecrackers were still ringing, and Wang Yuanyuan followed her parents’ footsteps into the house where she used to live with her parents.

“Let’s take a family photo!”, Relatives and friends present at the time spoke one after another.

Mr. Wang and Mrs. Shi sat on both sides of the sofa, and their son and his family sat in the middle. 34 years later, they got a complete family photo.

Walking into the small living room, everyone was attracted by the embroidered painting with the word “福” hanging on the wall. “I once embroidered this painting for my son. Now my family is reunited. What a blessing!

During the 34 years of searching for my son, I never thought of giving up.

Many years ago, Mr. Wang Chengyou and Ms. Shi Guiju had stable jobs in Shihua Town, Gucheng District, Hubei Province. After getting married, they had a son and a daughter and lived a happy life in their hometown.

This incident happened to their family on September 9, 1990. That day, their 4-year-old son Wang Yuanyuan went out to play with the neighbor’s children and did not come back until evening. Mr. Wang and his wife asked all their relatives and friends, but there was no news about the boy.

“I called everyone I could. I searched for three days and nights in and around Co Thanh, but there was no news. The next day he was performing at school, ‘I’m a Teacher,’ so I Bought a new set for my kid and I can’t believe he didn’t come home wearing these. Mr. Wang Chengyou recalled.

In 1991, Wang Chengyou decided to quit his job in the city and go out to work in search of his son. Whether he was working in sales, business or driving a freight truck, he tried to make a lot of friends. For him, it was a way to increase the likelihood of finding out what happened to his son.

Mr. Wang’s family took photos with the police.

This person’s footprints are almost all over the country. In the past thirty-four years, wherever there was information, he would quickly make arrangements to obtain it. He also met many scammers along the way.

“Whenever I had any clues, I would leave with high hopes and come back with disappointment. But I promised myself that I would never give up until I met my child. Now that my son is home, my wanderings in those years are over. it’s over. he said with emotion.

Wu Jiang, leader of the technical team of the Criminal Investigation Brigade of the Gucheng District Public Security Bureau, was one of the police officers who helped Wang Chengyou and Shi Guiju find their son. Soon after joining the workforce in 1996, he learned about these things.

Over the years, Wu Jiang said that he has searched for clues many times, but the comparisons have been unsuccessful.

“They have been disappointed many times. At a recent family recognition meeting in Co Thanh district, I saw their couples there to witness and bless the families who successfully found their loved ones. I really want to help them find their son.”“Wu Jiang said.

The turning point came in July last year, when police discovered that the couple’s blood samples matched a man named Xin Weizong in Quanzhou City, Fujian Province.

After learning about this situation, on July 28, police officers from the Gucheng County Public Security Bureau immediately rushed to Fujian overnight. Finally, they contacted Xin Weizong, and after a brief explanation, Xin Weizong agreed to cooperate in collecting blood samples. Subsequently, DNA test results confirmed that Xin Weizong was Wang Yuanyuan, the child who disappeared on September 9, 1990.

Since he was born on the Mid-Autumn Festival, Mr. Wang Chengyou and Ms. Shi Guiju named their child “Yuan” (Ruan, meaning reunion). So this 4-year-old boy who was lost back then is now 38 years old and has returned to his hometown. As his birthday approaches, he learns his real name and finds his long-lost family.
