The second-generation Dacia Duster, launched in 2017, restyled for the first time in 2021 before receiving the brand’s new logo in 2022, will soon leave the scene. Its replacement, the Duster 3 – which has just peeked out under the sharp lenses of our scoop hunters – will be presented in a few months. Also, in order to sell off stocks as quickly as possible, the Romanian car manufacturer Dacia has teamed up with the German chain of hard-discount stores Aldi. On this occasion, the Dacialdi joint venture has just been created.
Four lively seasons at Aldi?
Gerhart Albrecht, the head of Aldi, told us that the initial idea was to offer the entire Dacia catalog in its stores. And add ” as we are specialists in primeur products, we are called four-season merchants in our jargon, we wanted to rename the models. We had proposed to Dacia a first project in which the Dacia Spring became the Dacialdi Spring. According to the same logic, the Dacia Sandero would have become the Dacialdi Summer.
For its part, the Jogger, the family station wagon, would have been transformed into Dacialdi Fall/Autumn. Fall characterizing the 5-seater version while Autumn would designate the 7-seater one. Finally, the Dacia Duster would have swapped its surname for Dacialdi Winter. But the brand vetoed. If it got stuck at Dacia it would also have generated an additional cost for the consumer because, affixing new badges, changing the grilles once more, would also have been a waste of time for the consumer. We mightn’t have been ready in time for D-Day! »
Treat yourself to a new Dacia Duster 2023 for less than €9,000!
Since money at Dacia, as at Aldi, is the sinews of war, the two brands, which share common values, those of the outdoors and youth – the Aldi TV spot bears witness to this – and even better that of “choice malin” as a slogan, got along like thieves at a fair. To mark the spirits, Dacialdi did not go there with the back of the spoon: the Dacia Dusters offered in the brand’s supermarkets in France are sold at half price. Count €8,995 for a Duster Essential ECO-G 100 4×2 and up to €12,900 for a Duster Extreme Blue dCi 115 4×4.
These discounted Dacia Dusters are available from this Saturday in all French Aldi stores. Finally, our advice: hurry, there shouldn’t be enough for everyone! Anyway, you won’t be able to miss them, these sold-off Dusters will be displayed in plain view… right next to each fish counter in the brand’s stores.
