The term D2C has become popular in the world of e-commerce. The acronym, which comes from the English “Direct-to-Consumer” – in Portuguese, “Direto ao Consumidor” – refers to the sales strategy in which companies sell their products directly to final consumers, without intermediaries, such as distributors or retailers. .
With the growing popularity of e-commerce and social media, Rodrigo Garcia, Director of Petina Soluções em Negócios Digitais – performance startup for national and international marketplaces – in partnership with companies that stand out in innovation – Nerus, DB1, MRX, Mercado Livre, among others others – idealized the 1st D2C Forum for Industry and Importers, with the theme How to start the digital transformation of your industry.

Salesforce Study
A recent survey by Salesforce points out that 99% of the leading consumer goods companies in the market are investing in this business model, and that one of the biggest benefits is having greater control of the customer’s purchasing process, from marketing to product delivery . This is because such a process allows the company to customize the experience, collect data and feedback directly from consumers and, ultimately, strengthen the relationship. Currently, 22% of US industries carry out the D2C process, while in Brazil, the statistic corresponds to less than 10%.
“These data indicate a very large potential for the industry to take advantage of marketplace platforms, both to conquer new markets and to obtain information regarding end consumers. However, this change is not regarding the ‘death’ of retail, but regarding a new way of serving the channels. With this, the industry will capture an important value – along with retail – making high turnover products more easily consumed”, explains Petina’s director.
During the event, renowned industry speakers will share their experiences and insights on how to implement a D2C strategy, as well as best practices for achieving success.
