Earlier, the signatures of the voters were presented to the CEC by Prime Minister Ingrida Šimonytė, who is participating in the presidential elections, President Gitanas Nausėda, who is seeking a second term, the chairman of the “Nemunos aušra” party, Remigijus Žemaitaitis and the “worker” Andrius Mazuronis.
According to the CEC, it is still possible to sign for Giedrim Jeglinskas, Arūnas Rimkas, Valdas Tutkas, Eduardas Vaitkas, Aurelijas Verygas and Ignas Vēgelės – the latter already collected the necessary number of signatures online on Wednesday.
The CEC also informed that Gintautas Kniukšta, who wanted to run for office, sent a request to withdraw his application documents on Thursday and no longer plans to participate in the presidential elections.
The presidential election will be held on May 12.
