To test the D-Link DUB-M810 USB-C hub, we connected it to a 4K display, a Crucial X8 external SSD, a Logitech Unify dongle, an Ethernet cable, and an SD card capable of up to 300MB/s. It’s all powered by a 100W USB-C charger, with the hub powering our test PC.
In terms of speeds, all the USB ports allow on average just under 450 MB/s. The Ethernet port tops out at 120 MB/s, while the card reader has an average speed of 80.5 MB/s.
Nothing to report on this point: the D-Link hub provides the expected speeds, only the card reader is slightly behind, but nothing prohibitive.
The connection to our 4K screen confirms the standard used by D-Link, with indeed a frequency of 60 Hz in Full HD, but only 30 Hz beyond this definition. The use of a screen with a definition higher than Full HD may therefore prove to be painful to use with a refresh rate of only 30 Hz.
Power Delivery charging seems to keep its promises, our test laptop not deeming it necessary to request more than 65 W.
