the essential Daniel Balat is an art craftsman. Upholsterer, decorator and saddler, he trained in aeronautical saddlery and works for Ratier-Figeac.
It is by following the sign “D.Balat Création” at a place called Malmont in Camburat that we arrive at the workshop of Daniel Balat, upholsterer, decorator and saddler.
Following professional training in the furniture trades followed in Revel, Haute-Garonne, Daniel Balat began the profession at the age of 18 in nautical saddlery in Charente-Maritime, then continued in aeronautical saddlery. In 1991, he returned to the country and set up on his own in his original commune: Camburat.
Thanks to his knowledge, his know-how, his perfectionism and the use of expanded materials, he became the essential partner of the company Ratier Figeac Collins Aerospace (UTC) which is only a few kilometers from his workshop.
Regularly, we can see imposing trucks transporting Ratier Figeac blades in beautiful red technical coating envelopes. This design was entirely designed and produced by Daniel Balat. It meets many protection criteria because transport is never smooth and can damage the blades. However, these must reach their recipient without any alteration, however minimal it may be!
Art creations for heritage buildings
In addition, his talents as an upholsterer opened up many other projects for him. He is known and recognized by connoisseurs in the field of art. His last two projects to date: the Art Nouveau “Villa Laurent” castle in Agde in Hérault, whose walls he covered with hangings, and the Montauban cathedral.
In forty years in the business, he has to his credit a wide variety of achievements – creation and repair of stylish seats, motorcycles, classic cars, etc. – and creations for individuals.
