Placed among the favorites in the time trial of the World Cycling Championships, Remco Evenepoel has his own idea regarding the identity of the future winner.
Five days following the road race, the Worlds time trial takes place this Friday in Glasgow. Placed among the potential winners of the solo event, the Belgian Remco Evenepoel had the honor of finishing on the third step of the podium twice in a row in 2021 and last year. He even did better in 2019 with the silver medal behind Rohan Dennis. Present this year, the Australian is also the favorite to take over from Norwegian Tobias Foss. However, this is not the opinion of Remco Evenepoel.

“I have it next to me” affirmed the winner of the Vuelta 2022 in a press conference as to the identity of the future winner. Remco Evenepoel talks regarding his compatriot Wout Van Aert, runner-up to Mathieu Van der Poel on Sunday in the road race. “The first part is not at all technical, but the last twenty kilometers are very tough. It goes up and down all the time, with a very explosive last kilometer”, he also declared without however forgetting that he can also surprise all the favorites among whom we find among others the Italian Filippo Ganna and the Slovenian Tadej Pogacar.
“I don’t think I lost a lot of strength on Sunday, I had already recovered well on Monday. I then had three good days of training, so everything went well,” Remco Evenepoel told the media. Verdict at the end of the day this Friday.
