The Jumbo-Visma team unveiled this Monday the jersey it will wear during the next Tour de France. The Dutch team will adorn themselves with a starry sky.

The Jumbo-Visma team is often ahead of the others, whether on the bike, with 24 victories already this season, or behind the scenes, when it reveals its composition several weeks or even months in advance for a Ghent Tower. This Monday, the Dutch team also beat the competition by unveiling the jersey it will wear for the next Tour de France. In order not to be confused with the yellow jersey (which might well still be worn by a Jumbo-Visma like Jonas Vingegaard), the team kit will feature more black and less yellow than the jersey sported from the start. of the season. This jersey for the 2023 Tour has been called “Le Vélodrome” and draws its inspiration from an old attraction of the iconic Dutch leisure park Efteling, with a theme of tales and legends. Its design thus reflects a starry sky filled with dreams, explains the press release from the team of Christophe Laporte and Wout Van Aert.

“This jersey tells of the fulfillment of dreams”

“In our opinion, winning the Tour de France was a dream that was unreachable for a long time. We accomplished this dream last year, by daring to dream big and setting a specific deadline to achieve it. With this shirt, we want to encourage people around the world to pursue
their dreams and ambitions to achieve them. Efteling proved to be a natural partner to tell this story in an inspiring design. We are very proud to have come up with the design of this new jersey, which tells the story of the fulfillment of dreams, thanks to close collaboration with our equipment supplier AGU and the Efteling leisure park. We will wear this jersey with great pride in the next Tour de France and we will do everything possible to make our dreams come true once more.“, rejoiced Richard Plugge, managing director of the Jumbo-Visma team. Spectators and television viewers of the Tour de France have probably not finished seeing this jersey between July 1st and 23rd.
