“It certainly seems that way,” Dupont says. “His dominance is undeniable. This Velo d’Or win solidifies his place in the pantheon of cycling greats. However, cycling history teaches us that nothing is guaranteed. Can he maintain this level? Can anyone challenge his reign? That remains to be seen.”
