Cybersecurity. UM6P and Deloitte Morocco Cyber ​​Center seal a partnership

The Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P) and the company Deloitte Morocco Cyber ​​Center (Deloitte MCC), join their efforts in R&D to promote high-level scientific and technological research in cybersecurity in Morocco and on the African continent.

Deloitte MCC, a Moroccan center of expertise specializing in cybersecurity and a member of the Deloitte global network, and UM6P recently signed a framework cooperation agreement. This is a partnership of excellence aimed at promoting high-level scientific and technological research in cybersecurity in Morocco and on the African continent. The objective of the two partners is to train the talents of tomorrow and to build unprecedented security solutions. It should be emphasized that the program will be articulated around three main pillars.

First, the development of an academic course leading to certification and a diploma recognized at the level of the best international standards. The second part concerns the creation of ambitious research and development programs aimed at increasing innovation and anticipating the major transformations to come (post quantum cryptography, use of artificial intelligence. And the last is focused on the design of a professional integration path within Deloitte Morocco Cyber ​​Center and more generally within the Deloitte network. Note that the program facilitates the joint development of expertise by bringing together the teams of UM6P and Deloitte MCC in order to build a broad range of technical, organizational and strategic skills and to shine throughout the African continent.

“At UM6P, our adoption of digital as a catalyst for innovation is already bearing fruit. Thanks to this adoption, our ecosystem of start-ups is constantly growing, and our academic courses in computer science, cybersecurity or artificial intelligence are becoming national references,” said Hicham El Habti, President of UM6P. « I am certain that our partnership with our colleagues from Deloitte MCC will contribute considerably to sealing the link between research and the professional world in Morocco and in Africa”, he added.

For his part, Imade Elbaraka, partner responsible for cyber activities at Deloitte France and French-speaking Africa, and also Managing Director of Deloitte MCC, pointed out that this new ambitious partnership allows the construction of a bridge between the academic world and that of company, thanks to the support of public institutions and the State. “This merger is, in our opinion, the only way to create ecosystems capable of training and maintaining talents with a high level of expertise while promoting the emergence of new attractive economic models for start-ups, scale-ups, or specialized investment funds. This dynamic is key to strengthening Moroccan and African digital sovereignty, which is essential to meet the challenges facing the continent,” he concluded.
