CD Projekt RED has recently presented its financial results for the first half of the year. In a subsequent meeting with investors, the Polish company has spoken about its future plans: In addition to confirming that the version next-gen of The Witcher 3 still scheduled for end of 2022have also anticipated the future that awaits both Cyberpunk 2077 both as an individual game and at the level of intellectual property.

This meeting with investors has taken place after the official announcement of Phantom Libertythe first and only DLC to be released for Cyberpunk 2077. Investors have asked the company if they plan to continue feeding the game with content, to which CD Projekt RED has answered yes, although not with new expansions: “We have decided to develop a large expansion for Cyberpunk that will take advantage of the capabilities of the new generation consoles”, explained Michał Nowakowski, Vice President of Business Development.
Does that mean that Cyberpunk 2077 won’t you get more content after the DLC is released in 2023? No, in principle CD Projekt RED wants to keep updating the game with more news: “There will only be a great expansionthough there will also be new things in the future“, Nowakowski assured without going into more details. The truth is that along with the Phantom Liberty expansion, a patch with new content inspired by Cyberpunk: Edgerunnersthe anime series that premieres on Netflix next week.
Cyberpunk will become a multimedia saga
Precisely that series could enter into the plans of CD Projekt RED for expand this saga. In the Polish company they already talk about Cyberpunk as a license, a franchise that they want to continue exploiting both inside and outside the video game: “We are completely committed to continuing to develop the intellectual property of Cyberpunk. We’ve put a lot of effort and time into building this series and we definitely want to continue building on those foundations with new stories, experiences, content, and not only in video game formatBut I have to leave it there.”
