For many studios and publishers, this month of September marks the start of the new school year. In addition to the rumors around a new Nintendo Direct and the announcement of a Ubisoft Forward on September 10 around the last freshly announced Assassin’s Creed, it is also the studio behind The Witcher 3 et Cyberpunk 2077 who prepares something for the days to come. This afternoon on Twitter, the Polish studio made an appointment with the players:
Choooom! There’s something new on the horizon: a special episode of Night City Wire! We’ll be talking about the upcoming Cyberpunk: Edgerunners anime as well as upcoming content for Cyberpunk 2077.
An appointment which will therefore take place on Tuesday, September 06, 2022 at 5:00 p.m. (French time) on the CD Projekt’s Twitch channel.
Cyberpunk 2077: the extension closer than ever to release?
So what can we expect? Although the special update for next-gen consoles was deployed last February, it is concerning the new title extension that players are waiting for information. Last I heard, it would feature plenty of content, new factions, and would take place in Pacifica. On the other hand, officially, the only thing known about it is its release period: it is expected for 2023. Enough to allow the studio to focus on the new generation version of The Witcher 3 while keeping an eye on the forthcoming release of Cyberpunk : Edgerunners.
Indeed, the release of the animated series is getting closer: this week, the SVOD platform Netflix released a new trailer for the anime produced in part by the studio Trigger (Kill la Kill, Darling in the FranXX). A teaser “unhealthy for work” which contains nudity, violent scenes, blood and also gadgets straight from a futuristic universe: this trailer therefore promises, on paper, an adaptation with a mature subject quite faithful to the original work.
