Undeniable improvements on Xbox Series X|S
Available for a week on Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5, Cyberpunk 2077 update 1.5 has therefore arrived to improve the overall state of the game, especially from a graphical point of view.
First of all, it is important to remember the performance of Cyberpunk 2077 in its original version on Xbox Series X|S. Two graphics modes existed on Series X: Performance, optimizing fps, and Quality, focusing on resolution. Cyberpunk 2077 offered a resolution between 1080p and 1440p on average at 30fps on Xbox Series S while the Series X offered, in its quality mode, a resolution between 1512p and 1720p and 1080p for almost constant 60fps in performance mode.
Now patch 1.5 allows the Xbox Series S version to run between 1296p in the worst case to reach 2304p. According to Digital Foundry’s test, the game can even hit a range between 1440p and 2560p. Add to that a constant 30 fps and here is a version of Cyberpunk 2077 largely optimized on Series S with increased sharpness.
For the Xbox Series X version, the gap is also important. Both graphics modes are still available even though Quality mode has been replaced by Ray-Tracing mode. Its specificity? Offer better quality in terms of shading and rendering of interiors. The difference outdoors is much less obvious. This Ray-racing mode offers 1440p at a constant 30 fps, with a smoothing and antialiasing system that are included. In Performance mode, here once more patch 1.5 demonstrates its qualities since the game offers constant 60 fps in a range between 1382p and 1728p.
These improvements coupled with increased traffic and NPC display make the Cyberpunk 2077 experience all the more interesting in 2022 on these next-gen consoles.
Some bugs persist all the same, but CD Projekt Red should offer regular updates that will make Cyberpunk 2077 all the more beautiful, immersive and pleasant to discover. We remind you that Cyberpunk 2077 offers 5 hour free trial sur Xbox Series X|S et PlayStation 5.
