Game News Cyberpunk 2077: CD Projekt gives some news regarding the expansion!

At the end of 2021, CD Projekt took the floor to outline version 1.5, then presented to the public and deployed on February 15. At the same time, the studio unveiled its new internal organization, and indicated that the majority of the game’s teams were now working on the first expansion of the title.

Since then, players have been treated to a new patch, 1.52, and the studio has announced the start of a new game. The Witcherwhich will use the Unreal Engine 5. In the case of Cyberpunk 2077, we stay on the RED Engine as part of the follow-up. In other words, and quite logically, the extension (or extensions) of Cyberpunk 2077 will be the latest content to use the home engine.

Several extensions on the way?

But for now, all we know regarding this expansion is that it is well under development and that the workforce has switched to it, but for the rest, it’s radio silence. As for the content, we have to settle for the rumors, which indicate that the extension would take place in the Pacifica neighborhoodthat it would add a rich storyline, new factions and, of course, new equipment.

During a recent developer stream, Pawel Saskothe head of quests for Cyberpunk 2077, wanted to reassure everyoneeven implying that several expansions were in production. When the game was announced, the studio said the title would have follow-up similar to The Witcher 3 : Wild Hunt, which had been given two large extensions. However, in the communication following the game’s calamitous release, only one extension was mentioned :

I can’t tell you anything regarding our future plans. But I can assure you that we are working on extensions – we are working on things for you.

Other fixes in the pipes

Obviously, the team is still working to correct what needs to be corrected, and Pawel Sasko says that the developers are fully aware of the work that remains to be provided. A way to tell players that they won’t be abandoned despite worries, internal restructuring, and the launch of a new The Witcher project:

We are always improving the game, because we are all aware that there is work to be done. We are very happy that you liked 1.5, and it gives us more… motivation to work, because you show your appreciation for what we do. That’s all I can tell you. We work on things for you. I go through quests daily, literally, and talk to people regarding various things, so it’s moving forward.
